We start with a discovery call to make sure we are a good fit for each other (if we are not we can provide advice and possibly a referral).
After the call we will schedule a time visit your home and get measurements. Then we will schedule a meeting in our showroom to review design options and costs.
We call this our
‘Design and Budget Consult’
At the end of the consult you will have 3D concept drawings, a detailed scope of work and a ‘good better best’ budget for your project.
When to Choose Us

McManus Kitchen and Bath is the only licensed remodeling contractor in Tallahassee with an in house design team & showroom.
We specialize in kitchen & bath remodeling, but we also do whole home remodels and additions.
Our turn key remodeling process saves you time and reduces that feeling of overwhelm from trying to figure everything out on your own or trying to coordinate separate designers, contractors and showrooms.
It also means better communication and planning which helps to create better, more personalized designs, higher quality construction and smoother running projects.
When not to choose us:
If feel like you can do the design on your own, don’t mind coordinating the ordering and storage of materials and are not concerned about communication, cleanliness or on time completion then a traditional remodeling contractor might be a better choice.
We also do not work on rentals, ‘flips’ or small handyman style jobs. Our minimum project size is around $30,000.

How Long Does It Take To Get An Estimate?
About two weeks in most cases.
We usually schedule a your initial in home consult within a week of your discovery call. After the initial home visit it takes about a week for us to create your 3D concepts and good better best budget. Then we will meet with you in our showroom to review them.

When Can the Project Start?
We can usually start the design process within 2 weeks of you approving your budget. Actual construction usually starts between 2 and 4 months after design is complete.
A lot of remodeling contractors want to start the project as soon as possible and will often start before all materials are ordered or even before the design is complete. But that almost always leads mistakes, cost over-runs and delays in the middle of the project.
We prefer to complete all design work and order all your materials before the project starts. Everything is delivered to our warehouse so it can be checked for quality and shipping damage and we don’t have any unecessary delays on site.
Do you use subcontractors or in house installers?
We’ve tried it both ways and feel we get better results using qualified subcontractors who we’ve developed long term relationships with.
We used to have in house installers but it was difficult for a small team of installers to be expert in all the skills needed from demo to drywall, finish carpentry, painting etc… So we were getting mixed results in project quality depending on the scope of work.
By using sub contractors who specialize in just one trade we’ve been able to increase the quality of workmanship and avoid delays during construction.
Do I have to choose materials from your showroom?
You do not. Most of our clients find everything they need in our showroom but we work with other showrooms in town as well.
Are You Expensive?
I would say you don’t hire us for the lowest price, you hire us for the best experience and results. Our project costs are inline with other companies that provide the level of service and quality that we do.
Our initial estimates are detailed and realistic so there won’t be any surprise costs or misunderstanding during construction.
Are you a "GC" ?
In common parlence, yes we are a “GC”, though many people use that term incorrectly.
More accurately we are state certified residential contractors (lic.#CRC1331326) and are licensed to build and remodel any single family home up to 3 stories.
We are not licensed to work on commercial properties and we are only licensed in Florida.
