How much should you invest in your home? It’s an important question that is not all that easy to answer. In this guide we’re going to outline some things to consider and share some common remodeling costs with you for the Tallahassee area. The costs we will outline are based on averages from recent projects we’ve estimated using our Good Better Best estimate system.

Remodeling Costs in the Tallahassee Area
The costs we’ve outlined below are listed in fairly broad ranges. They can be useful in the early stages of planning but to make an informed decision you’ll want to schedule an appointment so that we can create a Good Better Best budget for you.
The costs below are for what we call a ‘gut renovation’ where all the cabinets, counter tops flooring and fixtures are removed and replaced with new materials. It can include minor layout changes like adding new lights or changing the cabinet layout but no major changes like moving a wall or relocating plumbing.
These costs include what we consider to be common materials that our customers are asking for. Things like quartz countertops, semi-custom cabinets with organizers and mid range fixtures. They do not include the cost of new appliances.
Small Kitchen Remodeling Costs:
$30,900 – $47,300
At typical small kitchen is about 10’x12′ and not have an island. A gut renovation of a small kitchen could cost between $30,000 and $47,000 to remodel depending on the material choices and exact scope of work.
Mid Sized Kitchen Remodeling Costs: $45,900 – 70,700
At typical mid sized kitchen kitchen is about 12’x16′ and has a small island. A gut renovation of a mid sized kitchen could cost between $45,000 and $70,000 to remodel depending on the material choices and exact scope of work.
Large Kitchen Remodeling Costs: $53,600 – 85,730

Cabinet refacing is a unique way to remodel your kitchen without the mess and expense of demolition. Your existing cabinets stay in place and are “refaced” by replacing the doors and drawers and covering the cabinet boxes with a 1/4 panel and specialized molding to give your cabinets a whole new look.
Small Kitchen Refacing: $9000 – $12,000
Small kitchen are around 10’x12′ and don’t have an island.
Mid Sized Kitchen Refacing: $12,000 – $15,000
Mid sized kitchen are around 12’x16′ and have a small island.
Powder Rooms: $7000 – $15,000
Powder rooms are a great place to have some fun with your design. They are small spaces, usually with just a toilet and small vanity. Its a great place to get a little courageous with your design ideas.
Hall Bathroom Remodeling Costs: $18,000 – $27,000
Hall bathroom remodeling costs are pretty consistent since most hall bathrooms are pretty similar in size. A typical hall bathroom is 5′ x 9′ and has a combo tub/shower, toilet and small vanity. For a budget remodel consider refinishing the tub instead of replacing it and look for an all-in-one vanity instead of a custom vanity and countertop.
Master Bathroom Remodeling Costs: $35,000 – $55,000
Remodeling costs for a Master bathroom can vary a lot in scope of work and cost. A typical master bath is about 10’x12′ and has a separate shower and tub and a two sink vanity.
There are two big trends in Master Bath remodels today. The first is called Aging in Place, which means adding features like barrier free showers and grab bars to the bath in order to accommodate people with different levels of mobility. The other big trend is creating a spa=like experience with things like air baths, heated floors and custom cabinet storage.
