Historic Bath Update – $85,000
This was one of our most popular projects on social media from 2018 and for good reason. The spacious master bath has everything most homeowners want in a master bathroom these day. A large vanity, walk in shower, custom accent lights and freestanding tub. The homeowners also made some fantastic choices when it came to color and pattern selection.
We started with the master bathroom. The footprint remained largely the same. We did change the old shower to a barrier free, walk in and removed the old (and very large) deck mounted tub to replace it with the freestanding tub you see here. They also decided to do some minor updates to the guest bath and laundry room while we were there.
- Original GBB Budget: $57,492.77
- Fixed Price Proposal: $82,792.24
- Change Orders: $2246.78
- Final Project Costs: $85,038.95
Typically are Good Better Best budgets are very accurate. In this case however the homeowner decided, after approving the budget, to splurge on some really nice fixtures and to add a number of things to the scope of work. This increased the cost of the fixed price proposal quite a bit but it was not unexpected. There were some minor change orders on the job. One change was to add some drywall work in the guest bathroom, another was related to some wood rot that was found after demo. There were two customer requested changes as well.
