Project Overview

These clients originally wanted to reface their existing kitchen cabinets. With the layout modifications and wanting new countertops, they decided to get all new cabinets instead.

Our Favorite Things

Quartz Backsplash

We did a matching full height quartz backsplash. Our installer was able to match the veins in the countertop for a seamless look from the countertop up to the backsplash.

Glass Range Hood

Range hoods can act as the centerpiece of your kitchen. With the kitchen being all white, we love the way the glass looks in the space compared to a completely stainless steel range hood.

Scope of Work

Getting all new cabinetry allowed us to add tall pantry cabinets, large drawer bases and modify their upper cabinets. They wanted to keep some of their upper cabinets over their island for storage so we did two different heights to keep the openness of the space while maintaining some of their storage.

After their project, they agreed they probably didn’t need those cabinets. The enhanced layout and drawer bases gave them more storage than they needed. Instead of having hardware on the upper cabinets, we installed doors with hidden finger pulls. We also added under-cabinet lighting to brighten the space even more.

There were a few mixups with cabinet ordering and installing. We also had to reorder a cabinet that arrived damaged. With cabinet lead times being so long due to Covid-19, this set us back quite a bit as we were not able to install countertops until all the cabinets were installed.

Selections

Cabinets

For the island and base cabinets, the client went with the Porta door style from Bellmont‘s 1600 Line in Bianco High Gloss. For the wall and upper cabinets on the island, the client wanted to make some custom changes. We installed the same style doors from Bellmont, but from the 1900 line in order to make those changes: Porta in Bianco High Gloss with metal finger coves for easy opening.

Counters

The countertop against the wall is from Silestone‘s Eternal Collection in Polished Bianco Calacatta. Instead of choosing a backsplash tile, the countertop continues up the wall for a cohesive look.

For the island, the client selected Kensho from Silestone’s Zen Collection to help transition from the bright white kitchen into the living area.

Lighting

We replaced the existing lights with two surface mount lights from Blink Plus. We also installed some undercabinet lighting from Task Lighting.

Plumbing

For the sink, we installed a workstation sink from Ruvati with a stainless steel faucet from Moen.

The glass range hood is from Zline.
