What to Expect During Your In-Home Consult
The home visit is the first step in our estimate process, which we call a ‘design and budget’ consult.
How long does it take?
The initial home visit takes 30-60 minutes. If there are lots of questions we’re happy to stick around longer. The main goals are to see the space, your goals and get detailed measurements.
Do you need to clean?
We don’t need the home to be ‘spic and span’ we do need the room(s) we are looking at to be clutter free so we can walk around the room and see the walls, windows and electric outlets. We will also need to see your electric panel and hot water heater so please make sure those are accessible as well.
Is there a sales pitch?
Not at all. The home visit about learning more about what you want done and getting detailed measurements so we can create your initial estiamte and 3D concept. We can answer any questions you have and we’ll explain the next steps.
After the home visit we’ll send you an email with a link to schedule your private showroom appointment, where you’ll see your 3D design, review product options, and build a custom ‘good-better-best’ budget.

How To Prepare
There are a few simple things you can do to make the home visit a little better.
Create a list
Write down your ‘must haves’ and ‘nice to haves’ as well as what you already like about the space. A printed list is best but even a handwritten note will work.
This just allows us to focus more on our conversation and less on note taking during the visit. We will also record the visit if that is OK with you.
Sit and Talk or ‘Walk and Talk’ ?
Some people like to sit together for a few minutes and discuss the project and how we work before we look at the space. Often we ‘walk and talk’ … we discuss those things as we review the space together.
We want to do whatever makes you most comfortable so just let us know your preference when we arrive.
Parking details, Gate Access
If you have a specific preferece for where we need to park let us know. Typically we park on the street but if the driveway is long parking in the driveway is preferred.
If there are any gate codes let us know.
Pets
We love pets and usually it best to let them greet us when we arrive. They usually settle down after a few minutes and we don’t mind a little sniffing and jumping.
You know you pets best though, just let us know if we need to do anything to accomodate them.
Shoes on or off?
If you would like us to remove our shoes when we enter just let us know.
